Calabria hosts food excellence fairs showcasing regional producers

In early August 2026 Calabria highlighted its enogastronomic heritage with two major events. The 10th edition of the Fiera delle Eccellenze Calabresi took place in Belvedere Marittimo on 8‑9 August, featuring more than 30 local food and drink companies, an agro‑food market, tasting workshops, and activities such as clay‑art for turtle‑conservation awareness and trekking promotions. Local institutions, regional associations and the GAL Riviera dei Cedri were represented.

On 6 August, Corigliano‑Rossano hosted the third edition of the “Il Gusto dell’Eccellenza” awards at the Giardino del Museo della Liquirizia Amarelli. The ceremony honored producers, chefs and professionals across categories including haute cuisine, pastry, entrepreneurship and regional beverages. Notable guests included chef Francesco Mazzei and journalist Fabiana Pulieri, while the jury comprised experts such as Giuseppe Gatto and Angelo Musolino.
