Overview

In July 2026 Calabria announced that it would host the fifth edition of the Scirubetta International Artisan Gelato Festival in September and serve as the first guest region of Eurochocolate 2026 in November, positioning the region as a showcase for its agri‑food specialties.

In early August, the region followed up with two major enogastronomic events. The 10th Fiera delle Eccellenze Calabresi in Belvedere Marittimo (8‑9 August) featured over 30 local food and drink producers, market stalls, tasting workshops and cultural activities. A few days earlier, the “Il Gusto dell’Eccellenza” awards in Corigliano‑Rossano (6 August) honored chefs, pastry makers and beverage makers, with a jury that included festival president Angelo Musolino. These fairs highlighted Calabria’s regional products and built momentum for the upcoming gelato festival and Eurochocolate participation.
