Calabria launches training roadshow and bergamotto tourism route to spur regional growth
On 2 July 2026, Fondimpresa Calabria held the third stop of its “Formare per crescere e innovare” roadshow in Cosenza. The event, co‑organised by Confindustria, CGIL, CISL and UIL, showcased free financing tools for continuous training of workers and stressed that investing in employee skills boosts productivity and competitiveness. Business leaders, trade‑union representatives and local officials discussed best practices and the role of training as a growth lever for Calabrian firms.
In parallel, the Reggio Calabria Chamber of Commerce unveiled the “via del bergamotto” tourism itinerary. The project aims to turn the region’s renowned bergamot and other citrus products into a cultural‑agri tourism trail, linking farms, food producers, and heritage sites. Municipal officials, tourism researchers and local associations pledged support, citing potential benefits for the local economy, employment and community identity.
Both initiatives reflect a coordinated push by regional authorities and industry bodies to diversify Calabria’s economy through skill development and niche tourism.
