Calabria moves ahead with new Carabinieri barracks and Sorical hiring expansion
A delegation of UNARMA Calabria met with municipal officials in Santa Maria del Cedro to confirm that the new Carabinieri barracks is in its final stage, pending a few prefectural formalities. The officials said the modern facility will provide a more efficient and secure police presence for local citizens. "Siamo particolarmente soddisfatti… siamo realmente all’ultimo step," said UNARMA representative Fabio Riccio.
In a separate ceremony in the region, water‑service company Sorical signed employment contracts for 21 new administrative and technical staff and secured the permanent status of nine long‑term workers who had been in limbo for over two decades. The event was attended by Governor Roberto Occhiuto and regional assessors, who highlighted the hires as a boost to the operational capacity and sustainability of Calabria’s water infrastructure. "Particolarmente significativa… è la stabilizzazione di nove lavoratori storici," the regional note said.
