Calabria Region and unions sign new welfare model agreement

The Calabria Region and major labor unions have signed a protocol of understanding to establish a new structured model for welfare. The agreement aims to influence the programming, implementation, and monitoring of regional social policies.

Regional Welfare Assessor Pasqualina Straface met with general secretaries from CGIL Calabria, CISL Calabria, and UIL Calabria, along with representatives from various sectoral unions, to formalize this partnership. The goal is to utilize the expertise and local knowledge of unions to better identify the needs of vulnerable populations, including the elderly, people with disabilities, caregivers, and families in economic hardship.

By integrating the social reach of unions through their delegates and service centers, the region intends to reduce inequalities and transform available resources into concrete services. The initiative emphasizes shared responsibility and participation to ensure social policies are closely aligned with community needs.
