Calabria transport groups dispute regional airport and transit plans
The Consorzio Valle Crati, representing the municipalities of the Crati valley, criticised the regional government for excluding the consortium from a newly convened institutional table on the future of urban public transport. President Maximiliano Granata called the move “inaccettabile ignorare l'ente” and warned that sidelining the consortium undermines local institutions and the interests of thousands of commuters and transport workers.
At the same time, the regional federations of FILT‑CGIL, FIT‑CISL and UIL‑Trasporti sent an urgent note to President Roberto Occhiuto, seeking a meeting on the restructuring of the Calabrian airport system ahead of the appointment of new management for SACAL S.p.A. and its subsidiary. The unions argue that a collaborative institutional dialogue is essential to protect workers’ rights and ensure the development of the regional aviation network.
