Calabria's Beaches Earn Top Spots in Italy's 2026 Rankings and Blue Flag Awards

A Holidu‑based ranking of Italy’s most‑liked beaches for 2026 placed Calabrian locations among the elite. The Arcomagno beach at San Nicola Arcella secured the 8th position with a 4.7‑out‑of‑5 score and nearly 4,000 reviews, while the Rotonda beach in Tropea ranked 20th with the same rating and 1,228 reviews. They are the only two Calabrian entries in the top‑30 list, which continues to be dominated by Sardinian beaches.

In the same year, Calabria was awarded 27 Blue Flag certifications, ranking second only to Liguria. The increase in accredited beaches and the presence of new flag‑bearing towns such as Amendolara, Montegiordano, Falerna and Locriche have driven a surge in tourist bookings, with more visitors choosing all‑inclusive resorts along the region’s coastline and interior attractions.

These developments highlight Calabria’s growing reputation as a premier summer destination within Italy, combining high‑scoring beach experiences with recognized environmental and service standards.
