Calci weekly market to return to historic Piazza del Poggio

The weekly market in Calci is set to return to its historic location in Piazza del Poggio, effective Wednesday, October 7. The decision to move the market from Via Roma follows several experimental phases and extensive public consultations with citizens, local businesses, and street vendor associations.

Mayor Valentina Ricotta stated that the move aims to create a more rational and functional market environment for both permanent shops and street vendors. The relocation will also clear Piazza Cavallotti and Via Roma, which serve as vital traffic links for the town, particularly in the mornings near essential services such as the local pharmacy, police station, and post office.

The transition was supported by hundreds of signatures submitted to the municipal administration and aligns with campaign commitments made by the majority coalition.
