Two bodies recovered at the Impero River mouth in Imperia

Two young men were found dead in the clear waters at the mouth of the Impero River along the Lungomare Amerigo Vespuccia in Imperia. The first body was spotted by a park visitor, and a second was located by the Guardia Costiera. Rescue teams from the port authority, carabinieri, fire brigade and the 118 emergency service responded, and a helicopter and divers were deployed. Preliminary information indicates the victims were males, one identified as a Tunisian origin youngster; formal identification is ongoing. Authorities are conducting forensic examinations to determine the circumstances of the deaths.
