California Attorney General urges consumer claims in generic drug settlement
California Attorney General Rob Bonta is urging consumers to seek compensation following the preliminary approval of a settlement plan regarding inflated generic drug prices. A U.S. District Court in Connecticut approved the plan, which was filed by California and a coalition of 47 other states and territories.
The settlements involve several generic drug manufacturers, including Glenmark, Lannett, Bausch, Apotex, Heritage, and Emcure, totaling approximately $96.5 million. These companies were accused of illegally conspiring to raise the prices of generic medications.
Consumers who purchased eligible generic drugs between May 2009 and December 2019 may be entitled to receive funds. The deadline to submit a claim for compensation is March 8, 2027.
