California Science Center opens reservations for Endeavour exhibit
The California Science Center has opened advance reservations for the public to view the Space Shuttle Endeavour at its new permanent home, the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center. The facility is scheduled to open to the public on November 13.
The 200,000-square-foot expansion at Exposition Park nearly doubles the center’s exhibit space. It will feature over 100 aerospace artifacts and 100 new hands-on exhibits focused on science, technology, and engineering. The centerpiece, Endeavour, will be displayed vertically in a launch-ready configuration alongside authentic solid rocket boosters and ET-94, the last remaining flight-qualified external fuel tank.
The new center includes three multilevel galleries: the Samuel Oschin Shuttle Gallery, the Korean Air Aviation Gallery, and the Kent Kresa Space Gallery. While general admission to the California Science Center remains free, a $4 reservation service fee per person applies for access to the new facility.
