California seizes over 63,000 lb of illegal cannabis in three‑month crackdown

California officials announced that the state’s Unified Cannabis Enforcement Task Force seized 63,204 pounds of illicit cannabis valued at more than $104 million during a three‑month operation from April to June. The crackdown also eradicated 89,257 cannabis plants, confiscated 17 firearms, seized $220,923 in cash and resulted in 24 arrests across ten counties.

The largest coordinated sweep took place May 14–June 3 in Tulare, Kern and Los Angeles counties, where 26 search warrants were executed. Additional actions in Riverside County dismantled an indoor grow operation, seizing about 1,395 pounds of cannabis and 2,415 plants valued at $2.3 million, and uncovered hazardous pesticide methamidophos. Governor Gavin Newsm’s office emphasized that the effort targets organized crime, environmental violations, illegal firearms and labor exploitation linked to the unregulated market.
