Two teenagers arrested for alleged Corona High School shooting plot

Two 15-year-old girls have been arrested in Riverside County, California, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder following an alleged plot to attack Corona High School.

The investigation began on October 6 after the FBI identified suspicious social media communications regarding a potential mass shooting. Detectives subsequently arrested one student from Corona High School and a second student from Norco High School.

Authorities stated that the suspects had spent several months researching school shootings and discussing methods to obtain firearms. While the teenagers reportedly discussed hunting license requirements and online weapon acquisition, no weapons were recovered during searches of their residences or electronic devices.

Police indicated that the motive may have been revenge-based and that investigators found a list containing specific names, though the primary target was the school campus. The Corona-Norco Unified School District confirmed that neither suspect has been on campus since the investigation commenced. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case.
