Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 beta dates announced, featuring new Kill Block mode

Activision and Infinity Ward have revealed the schedule for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer beta. An early‑access weekend runs from August 21‑25, 2026 for pre‑order customers on PS5, PC and Xbox Series consoles, followed by an open beta from August 28 to September 1, 2026 that will also be available on Nintendo Switch 2.

The beta will focus on multiplayer, offering 19 weapons, 3‑v‑3 Gunfight, 6‑v‑6, Search & Destroy, a training mobility course, and large‑scale Ground War battles with tanks. A new map mode, Kill Block, features a modular arena with over 500 possible layout combinations, supporting both 3‑v‑3 and 10‑v‑10 matches. DMZ will not be part of the beta, and Game Pass subscribers will not receive any special access.

Pre‑order customers receive an automatic key for the early‑access weekend, while the open beta requires no key. The beta follows the Call of Duty Next showcase on August 21, which will present further game details.
