Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta reveals campaign and gameplay

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, developed by Infinity Ward, is scheduled for release on October 23, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Recent beta testing has provided a first look at the game's features, including a significant milestone: the ability to play a single-player campaign mission, titled ‘Trincerato’, prior to the official launch.

The campaign is set against a backdrop of conflict in Korea, following a South Korean squad during a large-scale invasion by North Korea, alongside the shadow operations of Captain Price. Activision aims to steer the series toward a darker, more intense narrative tone.

Gameplay modes showcased include traditional 6v6 multiplayer, Team Deathmatch, Domination, and new variants such as Kill Block (3v3 and 10v10) and ‘Inflation’, which introduces unpredictable pressure elements to combat.
