Callina Liang details intense training for Street Fighter role
Actress Callina Liang has detailed the intensive physical preparation required to portray the character Chun-Li in the recent Street Fighter film. To achieve an authentic look and movement style, the 26-year-old underwent a rigorous training regimen involving two to four hours of daily practice in Taekwondo, Muay Thai, and Wushu.
Liang also followed a strict high-protein bulking diet, which included consuming 12 eggs per day and eating meals every two hours to meet a 4,000-calorie target. She noted that the process was physically demanding and nearly made her ill, but resulted in her thighs growing six-and-a-half centimeters.
The Street Fighter film has seen commercial success, earning approximately $31 million during its opening weekend and reaching $51 million globally. Liang's dedication to the role has been highlighted by fans following earlier online criticism regarding her physique.
