Camargo, Mexico Suspends Mosquito‑Control Program for Summer Vacation

The municipal descacharrización initiative in Camargo, coordinated by the local government and the Rural Development Education Brigade 112, will pause its household visits while school staff observe the summer break. Brigade director Edna Sáenz explained that the personnel follow the official vacation calendar of the Secretariat of Public Education, and the municipality has been asked to reschedule activities until classes resume. After the recess, the program will restart its visits to colonies and communities, aiming to prevent mosquito‑borne diseases by encouraging residents to discard unused containers.

In a separate municipal effort, Camargo’s public safety has been bolstered with twelve new units – nine motorcycles and three patrol vehicles – provided with the support of the state government and Governor Maru Campos. Mayor Jorge Aldana said the equipment will expand preventive patrols and speed response to citizen reports across the town.
