Mexico municipal health and safety summer measures

In early July, Camargo halted its mosquito‑control campaign as schools entered summer break, postponing household visits that target standing‑water containers. Officials pledged to restart the effort when classes resume and reinforced public safety by adding twelve new patrol units.

Later in July, Campeche announced that 17 beaches had passed extensive water‑quality testing, showing no microbiological contamination and meeting national health standards, allowing families to swim safely throughout the season. State security agencies deployed additional patrols—including the National Guard, army, navy, federal prosecutors and municipal police—to maintain order at coastal sites and large events.

By the end of July, the health ministry confirmed that the same 17 beaches received a perfect 100 % rating from Cofepris after more than 2,200 samples were analyzed. Health secretary Orlando Alvarado Rivadeneyra said conditions remain stable and that the state agency COPRISCAM will continue surprise inspections for the remainder of the season. A coordinated security operation, led by the Secretariat of Protection and Citizen Security, was expanded across key beaches such as Sabancuy, Payucán, Playa Bonita and Ciudad del Carmen, ensuring a secure environment for the influx of tourists.
