Cambodia secures $5.92 billion in investment projects

Cambodia secured $5.92 billion in approved investment projects across 382 developments during the first nine months of 2026. These projects are expected to generate approximately 217,000 jobs. Although total capital and project counts decreased compared to the previous year due to global economic challenges, China remains the primary foreign investor, contributing more than half of the total funds.

To maintain investor confidence and address a forecasted growth slowdown, the Cambodian government is implementing administrative reforms, reducing operating costs, and investing in technical workforce training to attract higher-value industries.

In Kampot province, twelve companies signed investment agreements to establish operations within the Kampot Fujian Special Economic Zone in the Chum Kiri district. The agreements were finalized during an economic and trade cooperation conference between Pingtan City of Fujian Province and Kampot Province.
