Cambridge man arrested for alleged sexual assaults at Planet Fitness

Laquan Holland, 40, of Cambridge, was arrested following allegations of sexually assaulting two women inside a women’s locker room at a Planet Fitness in Porter Square on a Thursday morning. The gym is located on the ground floor of Lesley University Hall.

According to Cambridge police, the first victim reported that Holland struck her, touched her inappropriately without consent, and restrained her while partially removing her clothing. A second woman, who attempted to intervene after hearing calls for help, also alleged that Holland touched her without consent and attempted to force her to touch his body. One victim was transported to a hospital for evaluation following the incident.

Holland faces multiple charges, including two counts of assault with intent to rape, two counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14, kidnapping, and witness intimidation. He entered a not guilty plea during his arraignment in Cambridge District Court and is being held until a hearing scheduled for October 16.

Planet Fitness stated that Holland was a member and has since revoked his membership. The company expressed a commitment to providing a safe environment and is cooperating with law enforcement. Lesley University confirmed that no students or staff were involved in the incident.
