Cameroon airport taxi service to modernize via TAXIGO project

Aéroports du Cameroun (ADC SA) and ALO Technologies are launching TAXIGO, a new airport transport service scheduled to begin operations at Douala and Yaoundé-Nsimalen international airports in November 2026. The project aims to modernize passenger services and professionalize driver working conditions through a new visual identity and service standards.

The initiative includes a fleet renewal featuring BAIC X35 vehicles and an operational model incorporating geolocation and Wi-Fi connectivity. Drivers can choose between two statuses: “entrepreneur drivers,” who can work toward vehicle ownership after four years with an initial guarantee of 800,000 FCFA, and “substitute drivers,” who can join without an initial deposit.

In preparation for the launch, a selection process was held in Yaoundé on August 20, 2026. Out of 138 candidates, 50 drivers were preselected for the main list, with seven others placed on a waiting list. The selection process, supervised by airport security and police officials, evaluated candidates on physical presentation, oral expression, road code knowledge, and morality. Following the verification of administrative documents and criminal records, selected drivers will undergo training in defensive driving, split payment systems, and tourist guidance.
