Cameroon: FEICOM allocates 10.11 billion FCFA for climate resilience
FEICOM has allocated 10.11 billion FCFA to 79 municipalities across all ten regions of Cameroon through its Climate Window. This funding follows an initial wave of nearly 6 billion FCFA granted in 2025 to 56 local authorities.
The initiative aims to integrate climate change mitigation into local development policies. Rather than replacing traditional infrastructure funding, the Climate Window targets investments that address both local needs and climate vulnerabilities. Examples include drainage networks that serve as both sanitation systems and flood protection, water supply systems to manage resource variations, and solar infrastructure to improve electricity access.
