Cameroon launches agricultural and sports infrastructure initiatives

In Yaoundé, Cameroon’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Gabriel Mbairobe, launched a joint supervision mission with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The mission, running from October 19 to 30, 2026, aims to evaluate the PAIDATA project, which focuses on sustainable agricultural intensification and agroecological transition. Officials seek to assess technical and financial performance to ensure project goals are met before the March 2027 deadline.

In Bafoussam, Mayor Roger Tafam met with a delegation from the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) regarding the SPORCAP project. Led by Carmen Saint-Louis, the mission focuses on establishing management, animation, and maintenance frameworks for upcoming local sports infrastructure. The discussions aim to formalize operational modalities and training for managers to ensure the long-term sustainability of these facilities.
