Camilo Pérez kicks off mayoral campaign in Asunción

On Thursday 6 August, Camilo Pérez, the Colorado Party candidate for mayor of Asunción, officially launched his campaign at the Puerto de Asunción. The free rally featured a musical performance by Marilina and was expected to attract around 20,000 attendees.

Pérez outlined a platform centred on efficient city management, transparency, digitalisation and concrete solutions to local problems, pledging to restore pride and improve quality of life for Asunción residents. Party leaders, including former president Horacio Cartes, attended the event. Recent polls by Grau & Asociados and Ati Snead show Pérez leading the municipal race by 13‑15 points over opposition candidate Soledad Núñez.
