Camilo Pérez launches unified campaign for Asunción mayoral race
Camilo Pérez, the List 1 candidate of Paraguay's National Republican Association (ANR) for the mayoralty of Asunción, inaugurated the party's municipal campaign at a large rally that also presented the ANR's slate of 263 mayoral candidates across the country. Pérez stressed that the party's cohesion is a key advantage, stating, “We are very happy with the unity we have achieved and the daily work we are doing… Let’s keep working together to reach October 4.” Deputy Raúl Latorre echoed the call for internal harmony, urging factions to settle differences. Both highlighted recent poll data that place Pérez ahead in the capital, attributing the lead to the party’s unified effort.
The campaign launch positions the ANR to seek control of Asunción’s municipal government in the upcoming October 4 elections, with the party framing unity as essential for delivering change in the city.
