Caminhos-de-Ferro de Moçambique targets rail modernisation at InnoTrans 2026

Caminhos-de-Ferro de Moçambique (CFM), Mozambique’s state-owned rail operator, is participating in InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin to promote railway modernisation and sustainable transport solutions. The initiative aims to showcase the country’s potential in the railway sector and foster partnerships focused on innovation, connectivity, and sustainable development.

The participation is supported by the European Union under the Global Gateway initiative, which prioritizes strategic infrastructure and connectivity investments. This partnership is intended to provide Mozambique with access to new technologies, expertise, and investment opportunities.

CFM views this engagement as a way to expand railway capacity and improve logistics supply chains, which are considered essential for the movement of goods and people and for Mozambique’s broader economic development.
