Campania environmental circles announce new local leadership and push for urban greening

The environmental and rural culture association Circoli dell’Ambiente e della Cultura Rurale appointed Domenico Testa as the new Territorial Manager for San Nicola la Strada in the province of Caserta. Testa said he will focus on waste management, expanding recycling, reducing illegal dumping, improving urban décor and caring for public green spaces, including promoting urban tree planting and food‑waste reduction measures.

In Portici, the local branch of the same association, led by President Noemi Pintus, sent a letter to the mayor and city officials urging stronger policies for environmental protection, shoreline management and urban forestry. The group highlighted Campania’s low ranking in national tree‑coverage surveys and called for a measurable target for increasing the number of trees per hundred residents over the next five years.
