Campania Health Spending Rises Amid Declining Radiotherapy Volume; AIR Campania Posts Profit

In 2025 the Campania region saw a sharp increase in public expenditure on radiotherapy despite an 8% drop in the number of procedures performed by accredited private providers. Spending rose from the budgeted €45 million to over €87 million after a new regional tariff schedule raised reimbursement rates, while actual treatments fell to 511,275.

Meanwhile, the regional public transport operator AIR Campania reported a fourth consecutive profitable year. The 2025 accounts showed net income of €83,594 and revenue growth to €99.35 million, driven by higher ticket sales and new service contracts. The company also announced 156 new hires and plans to invest further in service quality and fleet management.
