Campania announces new audiovisual, tourism, and healthcare initiatives
The Campania regional government has announced several strategic initiatives across the audiovisual, tourism, and healthcare sectors. At the Venice International Film Festival, regional officials presented a new strategy for the film industry, highlighting a 20% increase in resources and new international calls for projects. Key upcoming productions supported by the Film Commission include Netflix’s ‘Minerva – La Scuola’, new seasons of ‘Mare Fuori’, and various biopics.
In tourism, the ‘Treni Storici Campania’ program has been launched, allocating 2.7 million euros for 35 historical train journeys between September and December. These routes aim to connect cultural sites and archaeological parks like Pompeii and Paestum using restored vintage carriages.
Regarding healthcare and social services, the regional council confirmed progress on PNRR targets, noting the activation of 31 Community Hospitals and 154 Community Houses. Additionally, 5 million euros have been allocated to social and healthcare interventions, including support for addiction services in Naples, assistance for minors with autism in Caserta, and projects to combat elderly isolation in inland areas.
