Campania region blocks Bacoli coastal plan, Barano d'Ischia launches PAD public consultation
The Campania regional government issued a definitive rejection of the coastal land‑use plan (PAD) submitted by the municipality of Bacoli, declaring it illegal because it included military beaches that must be excluded. The region warned that the prefect could initiate a commissariat and potentially dissolve the municipal council if the illegitimacy persists.
Separately, the municipality of Barano d'Ischia announced the start of a participatory process for its new PAD. Following a council resolution on 9 June 2026, residents, associations and professionals may submit observations within a 30‑day window via certified email, as required by the regional PUAD framework. Relevant documents are posted on the town’s official website.
