Campania Region funds 20 industrial academies to boost employment
The Campania Region has approved funding for the first 20 ‘Campania Academy Industria’ (CAI) programs. This initiative, part of the PR Campania FSE+ 2021-2027, utilizes a total budget of 32 million euros to bridge the gap between professional training and the specific needs of the regional labor market.
The academies are designed to support both the specialization of currently employed workers and the qualification of unemployed individuals to facilitate their entry into specific industrial sectors. The program targets several strategic economic areas, including agrifood, construction, green economy, ICT, mechatronics, healthcare, textiles, transport, and tourism.
Angelica Saggese, the regional assessor for Labor and Training, stated that the goal is to reduce the distance between the skills companies seek and the competencies currently available, thereby fostering innovation and competitiveness within the region.
