Campania Region questioned over Arechi and Volpe stadium funding

Regional Councilor Roberto Celano of Forza Italia has requested clarification from the Campania Region regarding the financing and administrative procedures for the Arechi and Volpe stadium projects. The inquiry follows conflicting information regarding the source of funding for the works.

Initially, ERDF funds were identified for the project, but it was reported that these could not be used, necessitating a shift to Cohesion and Development Funds (FSC). While it was previously stated that the project was awaiting a definitive opinion from CIPESS by the end of July, some Salerno city administrators have suggested that passing through CIPESS might not be necessary.

Celano is seeking confirmation on whether the approximately 140 million euros required for the restyling of the Arechi Stadium and the construction of the Volpe Stadium are actually allocated and available. He has also asked if other projects were defunded or restructured to secure these resources, and requested details on the current status of the administrative process and the Economic and Financial Plan (PEF).
