Campania repurposes seized Camorra property into social dairy and animal centre

Regional councilor Raffaele Aveta of the Five Star Movement, who chairs the Campania Council's Agriculture Commission, inaugurated a social cheese dairy and an animal‑welfare centre in Casapesenna. The facilities are built on property previously seized from the Camorra, and were opened in the presence of Campania President Roberto Fico and other local officials.

Aveta said the project shows how confiscated assets can be turned into jobs, services and inclusion for the community, and urged faster allocation of similar seized assets, noting many remain unused. He suggested such sites could also host shelters for the elderly, people with disabilities, families facing eviction and the homeless, thereby reducing the space available to organized crime.
