Campi Flegrei: Campania leaders discuss seismic emergency and economic support

Regional leaders in Campania are addressing the economic and social crises in the Campi Flegrei area caused by bradyseism and recent seismic activity. President Roberto Fico met with business organizations from Pozzuoli, including Confcommercio and Unimpresa, to discuss the difficulties facing the local productive fabric. The meeting focused on the need for rapid interventions to support businesses and prevent negative impacts on employment and local industry.

In response to the ongoing emergency, opposition leaders in the Campania Regional Council have requested an extraordinary single-topic council session. Opposition leader Gennaro Sangiuliano and other group leaders expressed readiness to hold the session even during the Ferragosto holiday period. The opposition intends to present a resolution urging President Fico to request a formal “state of emergency” to bypass bureaucratic constraints and expedite the use of government resources for displaced citizens, workers, and businesses.
