Campina Grande municipal council holds public hearing on health services

Council members in Campina Grande, Brazil, convened a public hearing on Wednesday, March 29, to examine the city’s public‑health system. The session, initiated by councilwoman Kallyna Dias, gathered health professionals, council leaders and community representatives to discuss shortcomings in strategy, infrastructure and administrative changes that have bypassed the municipal health council. Participants highlighted the need for better planning, adequate staffing and adherence to legal procedures.

In a separate interview, councilman Severino da Prestação expressed confidence in Health Secretary Gustavo Braga’s management and underscored the strategic importance of the planned light‑rail (VLT) project for urban mobility and economic development in the city.
