Campo Grande Agetran launches electric scooter safety campaign

The Municipal Transport and Traffic Agency (Agetran) in Campo Grande organized a free educational event on Saturday, 18, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Parque das Nações Indígenas, opposite Vila Morena. Technicians from Agetran and representatives of JET, the company operating the shared electric‑scooter service, demonstrated safe riding practices, offered supervised test rides, distributed helmets and informational material, and answered public questions.

Attendees were instructed to follow national traffic rules: scooters should mainly use bike lanes or cycle tracks at a maximum speed of 20 km/h, reduce speed to 6 km/h on sidewalks, avoid riding on roads with speed limits above 40 km/h unless dedicated micromobility space exists, and never carry passengers, children, or animals. Use of helmets is recommended, riders must be at least 18 years old, and scooters must be parked only in designated areas without obstructing sidewalks or accessibility ramps. The campaign aims to improve safety as the city adapts to the new micro‑mobility mode.
