Campo Grande City Council honors 85 citizens for 127th anniversary

The Campo Grande City Council held a solemn session to celebrate the 127th anniversary of the city. During the event, 85 individuals were honored with the Title of Campo Grande Citizen, the Title of Meritorious Citizen, and the “José Antônio Pereira” Legislative Merit Medal in recognition of their professional contributions, job creation, and social actions.

The ceremony was attended by various officials, including Governor Eduardo Riedel and Mayor Adriane Lopes. City Council President Epaminondas Neto, known as Papy, emphasized that the honors serve as a way to express gratitude to those who have chosen to live, work, and establish roots in the capital, noting that the city is a result of diverse cultures coming together.

A special tribute was paid to photojournalist Roberto Higa for his role in documenting the city's history. The event also featured an exhibition of historical photographs showcasing different eras of Campo Grande.
