Campo Grande delivers homes to 60 families in new residential project

On Friday, June 3, the municipality of Campo Grande handed over keys to the Residencial Jardim Antártica, providing 60 two‑bedroom apartments to families who had waited years for permanent housing. The development, located in the Jardim Leblon area of the Urban Lagoa region, was financed by a R$2.2 million municipal contribution and implemented by the Municipal Housing and Land Affairs Agency (Emha) under Brazil’s Minha Casa, Minha Vida – Faixa 1 program.

Mayor Adriane Lopes highlighted that more than 7,000 families in Campo Grande have already received dignified homes through the city’s housing initiatives. Beneficiaries shared personal stories, such as Katia Regina Quadros Costa, a single mother of four—including an autistic child—who said the new home will bring stability, and retired resident Joana Ferreira da Mota, who expressed gratitude after a decade of waiting.

The complex includes common‑area facilities such as a playground, sand court, library, solar‑powered energy system and rain‑water recycling. Prior to moving in, residents attended workshops on community living, condominium management and their rights and responsibilities, aiming to foster a secure and integrated neighbourhood.
