Campo Grande launches mobile imaging unit and e‑SUS platform to streamline SUS queues

The municipal health secretariat of Campo Grande, in partnership with Brazil's Ministry of Health, began operating a Mobile Diagnostic Imaging Unit on 24 July. The unit, stationed at the Esplanada Ferroviária until 24 August, will perform about 1,300 computed‑tomography scans and a set of ultrasound exams. Patients are called exclusively according to the existing SUS regulation queue (Sisreg) and priority criteria; they must update their contact details at their Family Health Unit to receive the summons.

In parallel, Campo Grande became the first large‑city pilot for the e‑SUS Regulação system, a nationwide platform that integrates consultation, exam and specialized‑procedure requests to make SUS wait‑lists more transparent. On 23 July the city concluded a three‑day training that involved roughly 120 professionals from 64 municipalities in Mato Grosso do Sul. The new system will replace the legacy Sisreg platform gradually, with full migration expected between October and November 2024. Both initiatives aim to reduce waiting times and improve the organisation of public‑health services.
