Campo Grande celebrates 127 years with parades and cultural events

Campo Grande is holding several events to celebrate its 127th anniversary. A civic-military parade is scheduled for August 26, starting at 8:00 AM. The event will feature 60 participating entities, including military, educational, and social institutions. Technical meetings have been held to coordinate logistics, and significant traffic restrictions will be implemented on Rua 13 de Maio and Avenida Afonso Pena starting the evening of August 25.

Cultural activities include the ‘Circuito de Danças Circulares’ project, which offers free community dance sessions at various historical sites, such as Praça Ary Coelho and the Casa de Cultura, throughout late August.

Additionally, the city’s Historical Archive (Arca) is marking 35 years of institutional existence and 40 years of preserving the capital's memory. The institution manages a vast collection of administrative documents, maps, and photographs essential to understanding the urban and social evolution of Campo Grande.
