Campo Grande increases public health services and investment
Campo Grande has reported growth in public health services and investment during the second quadrimester of 2026. Municipal Health Secretary Marcelo Vilela presented the data during a report to the City Council, noting that the city allocated 24.6% of tax revenue and transfers to health actions and services, significantly exceeding the constitutional minimum of 15%.
Primary care saw 2,170,701 actions between May and August, a nearly 5% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This total includes 982,741 home visits by community health agents, 694,808 procedures, 438,884 individual appointments, and 54,268 dental services.
Additionally, specialized outpatient care within the municipal network grew by 50.9% in the second quadrimester, with 100,859 procedures recorded compared to 66,823 in the first quadrimester. The monthly average for these procedures rose from 22,274 to 33,620.
