Overview
Campo Grande has experienced a significant expansion in its planted forest area, which grew by 115.4% between 2023 and 2025. According to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the area increased from 29,911 to 64,430 hectares, raising the city’s share of Mato Grosso do Sul’s silviculture area to 3.39%.
Mayor Adriane Lopes stated that this expansion of silviculture offers “new productive opportunities and economic development for the municipality.” While the area has grown, production values have fluctuated due to natural planting and harvesting cycles. In 2024, production value reached R$ 267.01 million, whereas 2025 saw a value of R$ 65.92 million alongside the production of 277,700 cubic meters of logs.
