Campo Grande launches experimental shared electric scooter service
On Tuesday, July 7, the municipality of Campo Grande began a trial of shared electric scooters. The private company JET introduced 400 electric scooters, made available through the GO JET app for Android and iOS, in the central districts of Centro, Jardim dos Estados, Vila do Polonês and parts of the Parque Ecológico do Sóter.
The trial is overseen by the municipal transport agency Agetran. Director‑president Ciro Ferreira said the experiment will help the city understand demand and how the mode integrates with existing traffic, cycling infrastructure and pedestrians. Each ride costs R$ 0.99 to unlock and R$ 0.39 per minute, with options for ride‑packs and monthly subscriptions. Users must be over 18 and return scooters to designated points without obstructing sidewalks or crossings. The scooters are limited to 20 km/h and equipped with brakes, rear lights, GPS tracking and identification plates. Data collected will inform future regulations for shared micromobility in Campo Grande.
