Campo Grande Marathon announces R$ 100,000 prize for 2027
The Campo Grande Marathon has been renamed the Maratona Internacional de Campo Grande following its inclusion in the World Athletics calendar. The sixth edition of the event is scheduled for July 3 and 4, 2027.
Organizers announced a record prize pool of R$ 100,000 for the 42 km race, to be distributed among the top five finishers in both the men's and women's categories. This represents the largest prize money ever offered for a marathon in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Notably, the prize for the first-place winner has increased by 525% compared to the 2026 edition.
The event will feature a two-day program: 5 km and children's races on Saturday, July 3, followed by 10 km, 21 km, and 42 km races on Sunday, July 4. The courses are designed with negative net altimetry, meaning they contain more descents than ascents to assist runners in achieving personal records.
