Campo Grande implements infrastructure repairs and new mobility rules

The City of Campo Grande is implementing several municipal updates regarding infrastructure and urban mobility. As part of the ‘Vira CG Infraestrutura’ program, which involves investments exceeding 280 million reais, the city has authorized 12 work fronts to accelerate pothole repairs across seven regions. This initiative, managed by the Municipal Secretariat of Infrastructure and Public Services (Sisep), aims to repair between 2,500 and 3,000 potholes daily to improve traffic flow and vehicle safety.

Regarding urban mobility, new regulations (Complementary Law No. 564) now prohibit the obstruction of sidewalks by electric scooters and shared bicycles. Companies operating these services are held responsible for ensuring that a minimum width for pedestrian accessibility is maintained. Failure to comply may result in fines or equipment seizure.

Additionally, the Municipal Agency of Transport and Transit (Agetran) has announced several temporary street closures and traffic diversions due to religious events, political gatherings, and local fairs. These include planned disruptions on Avenida Marajoara, Avenida Afonso Pena, and various neighborhood streets to accommodate public activities and the National Traffic Week.
