Isaac Newton School Wins Futsal Title at Cuiabá Student Games

Colégio Isaac Newton secured the A‑category futsal championship at the 49th Jogos Estudantis Cuiabanos, defeating Colégio Fato 3‑1 in the final held at Ginásio Verdinho in Cuiabá on Thursday, 25 May. The victory grants the school a place in the state stage of the Mato‑Grosso student games and a possible slot in the national competition.

Municipal Sports Secretary Pablo Queiroz highlighted the event as the main school‑sport competition in the city, noting its role as a pathway for young athletes to higher‑level contests. Coach Marcos Antônio Duarte praised the team’s dedication and the educational value of sport. The city’s sports program, managed by the Secretaria Municipal de Esportes e Lazer, supports over 2,300 children and adolescents across various disciplines.
