Camwater drinking water project reaches 84.25% completion

Camwater has reported that the second phase of its drinking water project across nine Cameroonian cities has reached an overall physical progress rate of 84.25%. The large-scale hydraulic program, valued at over 71.86 billion FCFA, is funded jointly by the State of Cameroon and the EximBank of China.

This phase specifically targets Maroua, Garoua, Garoua-Boulaï, Yabassi, and Dschang. Maroua shows the highest execution rate at 91%, followed by Garoua at 90%. The project aims to increase potable water production to 42,700 m³ per day, strengthen storage capacities to 10,100 m³, and extend networks by more than 250 kilometers. The goal is to begin progressive commissioning of infrastructure in five cities by late February 2027.

Execution is being managed by Camwater with CGCOC Group serving as the contractor.
