Can Tho 2 Bridge project proposed with 27,050 billion VND investment

The My Thuan Project Management Board has submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Construction for the appraisal and approval of the pre-feasibility study for the Can Tho 2 Bridge and its connecting roads. This Group A project is planned as a public investment using state budget funds, with an estimated total investment of approximately 27,050 billion VND.

The proposed Can Tho 2 Bridge is a unique double-decker structure designed to accommodate both highway and railway traffic. The upper deck will feature six expressway lanes with a design speed of 100 km/h, while the lower deck is intended for a dual-track railway with design speeds of 160 km/h for passenger trains and 120 km/h for freight trains.

The project spans approximately 17.57 km across Vinh Long Province and Can Tho City. It aims to connect the My Thuan - Can Tho Expressway with the Can Tho - Hau Giang Expressway, effectively completing a missing segment of the North-South Expressway in the East section by crossing the Hau River.
