Can Tho establishes 200-hectare High-Tech Park

The Can Tho People's Committee has officially decided to establish the Can Tho High-Tech Park in O Mon Ward. The project covers an initial area of 200 hectares, with a reserve fund of 100 hectares for future expansion.

With an expected total investment exceeding 5,000 billion VND, the park is designed as a multi-functional economic-technical zone. It aims to serve as a hub for scientific research, strategic technology development, business incubation, and high-quality human resource training. The facility will prioritize five key technological sectors: biotechnology, automation, new materials, energy, and post-harvest technology. These sectors are intended to support the restructuring of industry and agriculture in the Mekong Delta, focusing on deep processing of agricultural and aquatic products, next-generation agricultural machinery, and climate change adaptation solutions.

The land use plan allocates approximately 47.4% of the area to high-tech production, 15.8% to R&D and training, and the remainder to green spaces, transportation, management centers, and technical infrastructure.
