Vietnam National Assembly reviews major draft laws and social reforms
The National Assembly Standing Committee of Vietnam has held several sessions to discuss and provide opinions on various draft laws aimed at legal and social reform.
Key legislative discussions include the draft Law on Lawyers, which proposes reducing the process of becoming a lawyer from four steps to two and introducing a national examination for professional certificates. The committee also reviewed the draft Law on the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, which seeks to shift the focus from mere support to creating favorable conditions for growth. Other legal reviews covered the Maritime and Inland Waterway Law, the Law on Adoption (with new provisions to prevent illegal online mediation), and amendments to laws regarding commerce, competition, and consumer protection.
In social and humanitarian efforts, the Ministry of Defense and local authorities in Can Tho conducted ceremonies to reinter 38 martyrs whose remains were recently recovered during the ‘500-day campaign’. Additionally, in Son La province, efforts are being made to improve education quality and build schools in border areas. On an international level, a youth study program titled ‘Red Journey’ was launched in Gansu, China, involving representatives from both Vietnam and China to foster revolutionary memory and friendship.
